Legalization of education documents

The procedure for confirming the authenticity of a document for submission to the official authorities of another state.

Types of legalization: :

Legalization by affixing the Apostille stamp for countries that have acceded to the Hague Convention
Consular legalization for countries that are not parties to the Hague Convention

Which originals of educational documents can be apostilled or in relation to which the procedure of consular legalization can be applied:p>

For confirmation, the following documents on the formation of a state standard issued in the Russian Federation or the RSFSR are accepted:

Documents on basic general and secondary (full) education:
- certificate of basic general education
- incomplete secondary education certificate
- eight-year certificate
- incomplete secondary education certificate
- certificate of secondary education
- certificate of secondary (complete) general education and its annex (issued by educational institutions with a certificate of state accreditation)
documents on primary vocational education: :
- certificate of qualification and its annex (issued in the field of primary vocational education, in which the institution has state accreditation) )
documents on secondary vocational education:
- diploma of secondary vocational education and its annex
- academic certificate (issued in the field of secondary vocational education, for which the institution has state accreditation)
documents on higher professional education: :
- bachelor’s diploma
- diploma of higher education
- Master’s diploma and application
- a diploma of incomplete higher education and an academic certificate (issued in the specialties and areas of training in which the higher education institution has state accreditation)
state documents on awarding a degree
state documents on the conferment of academic rank

When legalizing education documents, an extraterritorial attribute is used. This means – a document issued in
any region of the Russian Federation can be legalized in Moscow

The sequence of confirmation of documents on education and (or) qualifications, academic degrees and academic degrees when affixing the Apostille stamp:

Reception of the application and other documents from the applicant, execution of a power of attorney
Verification and registration of documents from the applicant
Verification of information in the federal register of state documents
Sending a request to an educational institution, organization
Getting a response to a request (sample response form)
Making a decision to confirm the authenticity of a document or refuse to confirm
Registration of the fact of confirmation in the federal database and obtaining the apostille number
A document with an Apostille affixed to it is issued to the applicant

Submission of an education document to the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation
Submission of education certificate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation
Certificate of identity at the consulate of the country of application of the document on education
